These essays are attached to the application and are criteria for high school acceptance. Students will write for first-choice high school. They will be placed into groups that are writing for the same school.

Meet Ashley 

Hi, my name is Ashley Fijman. I am a mom of three girls, ages 15, 19, and 21, at Mitty (junior), Santa Clara University (sophomore), and USC (senior). I am passionate about helping students succeed and connecting with them to bring out each child's potential. I hold a B.A. in Child Development and a multi-subject teaching credential. I have been preparing 8th-grade students for the HSPT Exam for 26 years. As a former homeroom 8th-grade teacher, I have helped students, including my own daughters, through the HSPT and high school process. I have also taught 4th grade and 7th/8th Junior High English Language Arts. I am a graduate of St. Frances Cabrini, Archbishop Mitty High School, and San Jose State University.
